A Passion-Fuelled Pursuit
From a teenager working the land to support his family, to building a Champagne house from the ground up with his wife, Cristian Senez’s story is one of determination and devotion. Beginning with just a few cleared acres, Cristian learned his craft in the cellar before producing his first cuvées in the 1970s.
Over time, the Senez family grew their vineyards, expanded their reach, and passed the reins to the next generations—each bringing fresh energy while holding true to Cristian’s original vision: to create Champagnes of exceptional quality and honest value. Today, the house remains proudly family-run, producing wines that honour both their land and the people who have shaped it.

Fontette, Côte des Bar
The estate covers over 25 hectares across the rolling hills of the Côte des Bar, Champagne’s southernmost subregion. The soils here are dominated by Kimmeridgian marl—the same ancient limestone found in Chablis—which gives the wines a distinct mineral edge beneath their natural opulence. The vineyards are largely planted to Pinot Noir, with pockets of Chardonnay and Meunier, and the house works to preserve the clarity of each site through careful farming and separate vinifications.

Responsible farming preserves the vitality of the vineyards for generations to come
The soil is nourished with natural fermented extracts and five clover essences to restore essential nutrients. Gentle soil scratching in selected rows regulates vegetation and supports healthy microbial life, while diverse plantings invite biodiversity and enrich the landscape’s beauty.

Complexity & Typicity
In a region known for its Pinot Noir, the Senez style leans into ripeness and roundness, with extended lees aging bringing depth and texture.

Balancing Modernity with Tradition
Respect for tradition goes hand-in-hand with modern innovation. In the winery, modern stainless steel vats stand alongside traditional vertical presses, combining the best of both worlds to craft champagnes of depth and precision.
